Islamic Relief USA is seeking a Development Coordinator responsible for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donor relationships to maximize their long-term value and benefit to the organization. The role involves prospecting the community for potential donors, matching their philanthropic interests with the organization's mission, and supporting fundraising activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop positive relations with donors, volunteers, organizations, and the public in the region.
  2. Cultivate and solicit donations from individuals, groups, and organizations.
  3. Plan, organize, and facilitate fundraising activities (events, dinners, concerts, etc.).
  4. Respond to donor inquiries with accurate and timely information; secure donations and provide relevant details.
  5. Engage volunteers to organize and coordinate fundraising efforts.
  6. Deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
  7. Prepare plans, projections, and reports for the Community Fund Development Manager.
  8. Enhance job-related skills through training and seminars.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working with grassroots organizations and volunteers.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds.
  • Energetic, multitasker.
  • Fundraising experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically at least 75%, with occasional international travel.
  • Exceptional public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and follow up on activities.
  • Strong record-keeping and basic writing skills.
  • Desire to work in humanitarian causes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Own transportation required.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
