Company Description

Chrysalis Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence, Inc. is dedicated to leading the community toward comprehensive solutions that prevent domestic abuse and break the intergenerational cycle of violence. Through a 360-degree strategy, Chrysalis supports survivors and addresses abusive behavior with a wide range of programs. Services include a 50-bed crisis shelter offering emergency housing, basic needs, advocacy, trauma counseling, and case management, as well as transitional housing focused on self-empowerment, workforce development, and financial literacy. The organization also provides outpatient counseling by masters-level therapists, victim advocacy in partnership with the Maricopa County Adult Probations Department and lay legal advocacy for various areas of law. Additionally, Chrysalis operates the PAC/PEACE program, helping individuals who have used abusive behavior accept responsibility and adopt non-violent beliefs and practices.

Role Description

The Development Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Glendale, AZ, supporting Chrysalis’ fundraising and community engagement efforts. This position coordinates day-to-day development activities, including donor communications, event support, and data entry and tracking in fundraising systems. The Development Coordinator assists with preparing grant materials, appeals, and campaign content, and helps maintain accurate records of contributions, acknowledgments, and donor information. The role works closely with the development team to cultivate relationships with donors and partners, respond to inquiries, and provide high-quality support to stakeholders. Additional responsibilities may include coordinating volunteer activities, managing project timelines, supporting marketing and outreach initiatives, and ensuring alignment with Chrysalis’ mission and values.

Qualifications
  • Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and professional Writing for donor outreach, reports, and campaign materials.
  • Customer Service skills to support donors, partners, and community members with empathy, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Project Management abilities to coordinate events, campaigns, and development initiatives, manage timelines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Fundraising experience or knowledge of donor relations, grant support, events, or campaigns, with an interest in nonprofit development.
  • Proficiency with office software and databases (e.g., Microsoft Office, donor management or CRM systems), and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders, and to maintain confidentiality and trauma-informed sensitivity.
  • Commitment to Chrysalis’ mission of preventing domestic abuse and supporting survivors; prior nonprofit or social services experience is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Social Work, or related field is preferred.
