Description

SUMMARY: The Development Coordinator serves as the primary staff support for the Foundation's fundraising, donor engagement, and board relations activities. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for leading the tactical execution of all fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship efforts, event support, prospect research, and board administration.

The Development Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing the Foundation's philanthropic goals by ensuring internal teams, donors, board members, and community partners receive exceptional engagement support. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, relationship management abilities, and experience coordinating multiple priorities simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising and Development Operations
  • Assist the day-to-day implementation of the Foundation's annual fundraising plan
  • Assist donor cultivation, stewardship, acknowledgment, and recognition processes and tracking
  • Coordinate annual giving campaigns, direct mail appeals, email fundraising efforts, and donor outreach initiatives.
  • Track fundraising performance and provide regular reporting on donor activity, campaign results, and revenue goals
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records within the donor management system.
  • Conduct donor and prospect research to identify new funding opportunities in conjunction with Executive Director and Capital Campaign Senior Director
  • Assist the Executive Director, Capital Campaign Senior Director, and Foundation baord with major gift cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Coordinate donor meetings, site visits, stewardship events, and fundraising presentations.
  • Prepare donor correspondence, proposals, acknowledgement letters, sponsorship requests, and impact reports.
Grants and Foundation Giving
  • Assists Grant Manager with identifying, researching, and tracking grant opportunities as needed
  • Work collaboratively with program and finance staff to gather data and outcomes required for grant applications and reports.
Board Relations and Governance Support
  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison to the NCTR and Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate board and committee meetings, including scheduling, logistics, agenda development, and meeting materials.
  • Prepare board packets, presentations, minutes, and follow-up communications.
  • Maintain board records, governance documents, committee rosters, and orientation materials.
  • Support board recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and recognition activities.
  • Assist board members with fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts.
  • Track board giving, participation, and committee involvement.
Events and Community Engagement
  • Coordinate fundraising events, donor appreciation activities, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Manage event logistics, sponsorship fulfillment, guest communications, and volunteer coordination.
  • Support event fundraising tracking, reporting, and post-event stewardship activities.
  • Represent the Foundation at community events and stakeholder meetings as appropriate.
Administrative and Strategic Support
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for the Executive Director, Foundation Board, and leadership team.
  • Assist in preparing annual fundraising goals, budgets, and development plans.
  • Monitor fundraising metrics and recommend process improvements, including the implementation of AI tools to improve efficiency and impactw
  • Ensure compliance with donor confidentiality standards and applicable fundraising regulations.
  • Perform other development and foundation-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Strong computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, record keeping and general office methods
  • Must have problem solving skills and a high degree of self-motivation
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize duties and tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a team setting
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Significant experience with computers and software with special emphasis in the Windows environments and the ability to quickly learn new software packages
  • Experience with spreadsheets at the intermediate level, including Excel Pivot Tables
  • Experience with other Microsoft Suite products, preferred

  • Must have experience working in small office, ability to multitask, work with team to make deadlines and complete various other projects.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting nonprofit boards or volunteer leadership groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience with donor databases and constituent relationship management system
  • Experience integrating AI tools to improve operational efficiency
Preferred
  • Experience with DonorPerfect or similar fundraising CRM platforms.
  • Experience coordinating fundraising campaigns and special events.
  • Grant writing and grant management experience.
  • Experience working within a healthcare, behavioral health, or human services organization
