Job summary

The City of La Porte is seeking a Construction & Development Liaison to serve as the primary contact for developers, applicants, property owners, business owners, engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants navigating the City's development review and permitting processes.

You will coordinate projects, optimize workflow within EPL systems, guide applicants through regulations, monitor status, and facilitate solutions with City staff, elected officials, and the public, while supporting

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in public service.
• Experience coordinating with multiple internal and external parties.
• Ability to manage development review processes and timelines.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for development applicants, property owners, business owners, engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Coordinate and facilitate development projects through the Development Review Process.
• Manage and optimize workflow processes within EPL systems to increase efficiency.
• Guide applicants through development regulations, permitting requirements, timelines, and approvals.
• Monitor project status and communicate milestones and deadlines to stakeholders.
• Identify barriers and facilitate solutions between applicants and City departments.
• Identify opportunities to improve development review processes and customer experience.
• Assist with special projects and departmental objectives.
