Job summary

Friends of the Children Austin is seeking a Development and Communications Associate to lead high‑quality communications and fundraising materials. You will collaborate with the Deputy Director of Development & Communications to engage supporters and partners while advancing branding and storytelling.

The role requires strong writing, design sensibility, and project management with a focus on outcomes for children and families. Office‑based with some remote flexibility, salary $60,000–$65,000.

Qualifications

• Two to three years professional experience in writing, communications/marketing.
• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize, and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, development, and delivery of communications and marketing materials to support fundraising goals.
• Lead end-to-end production of the Annual Gratitude Report and cross-functional content coordination.
• Oversee digital marketing strategy, content across web and social channels, and contracted support.
• Maintain and update the organization’s website, including events and news.
• Support fundraising efforts and donor communications through events and outreach.
• Create presentations and pitches for donors and foundations.
• Coordinate volunteer engagement and board fundraising efforts.
