Job summary

Friends of the Middlesex Fells seeks a Development and Communications Manager to drive fundraising, memberships, grants, and communications. The role combines donor engagement, grant research, and event oversight, with opportunities to interact with volunteers and the community in the Middlesex Fells area.

The position requires strong writing, web and social media skills, and the ability to manage multiple programs in a nonprofit setting. Hybrid work and in-office presence are expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor communications, and grants preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities for donor communications.
  • Strong planning and project management skills across campaigns and events.
  • Experience managing donor management software and large datasets.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead individual giving, membership, and grants management activities.
  • Oversee donor processing, acknowledgements, and reporting.
  • Manage annual campaigns, memberships, and grant tracking.
  • Produce monthly newsletters and program communications.
  • Coordinate outreach volunteers and in-person events (~8 per year).
  • Supervise volunteers and support the executive director on major gifts.
