Job summary

Verland is seeking a Development and Communications Manager to lead a broad fundraising program in partnership with the CEO. The role focuses on securing operating support from individuals, corporations, foundations, grants, and organizations, while promoting independence and quality of life for those served.

You will identify and cultivate donors, manage grants, craft appeals, coordinate events, oversee marketing and data management, and build corporate partnerships with the leadership team.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of proven fundraising experience.
• 2–4 years of project and staff management.
• Strong development skills and donor focus.
• Understanding of fundraising/advocacy campaigns.
• Experience with grant proposals and donor appeals.
• Proficient in sponsorship solicitation and events.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with senior leaders.
• Identify major gift prospects and coordinate meetings.
• Promote volunteer opportunities and expand corporate partnerships.
• Manage grant funders and perform prospect research.
• Draft appeal letters and fundraising publications.
• Oversee donor data management and timely acknowledgments.
• Plan and manage fundraising events and golf events.
• Oversee marketing materials and events committee strategy.
• Engage in community meetings to boost memberships.
