Job summary

Quaker Houghton is seeking a Development Chemist III to work in our Metalworking Fluid Development Laboratory in Conshohocken, PA. You will conduct product development, research projects, and product support for metalworking fluids.

Collaborate with commercial teams, other RD&E units, customers, and external partners to design new products and run tests in lab and field. The role requires strong collaboration, creativity, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or equivalent with at least 7 years of experience.
• Master’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience.
• Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of colloid chemistry, surfactants, and tribology is required.
• Experience with formulation of metalworking fluids and field support of machining.

Responsibilities

• Formulate metalworking fluids meeting customer needs.
• Work independently with minimal guidance from the laboratory manager.
• Mentor junior development chemists.
• Maintain clear records of observations and data.
• Write detailed reports and troubleshoot.
• Provide technical service and support to customers and sales.
