Job summary

The Related Group is seeking a Development professional to lead market studies, feasibility analyses, and due diligence for new acquisition properties. You will coordinate with lawyers, engineers, architects, and consultants to assemble approvals and proformas, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with budgets.

With 3+ years in development and a Bachelor's degree, you will review ordinances, track construction documents, and support asset management for eventual sale.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Basic understanding of construction standards and practices.
  • Experience in multifamily or condominium development.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, internet research, and project tracking software.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange for or conduct market studies and feasibility analysis for acquisition properties and surrounding market areas to confirm and justify feasibility of proposed projects.
  • Review local ordinances to verify approval requirements, development restrictions, and quantify any development fees and regulatory constraints.
  • Complete due diligence checklists as directed by the Development Manager (DM).
  • Assist DM and consultants in preparing applications for all required approvals.
  • Assist the DM in timely procurement of all regulatory, investor, lender, and internal approvals required for development.
  • Assist DM in preparation of proforma operating statements, construction and operating budgets, and other financial documentation to support economic feasibility.
  • Review proposed and actual construction and design change orders and ensure precautions are taken to avoid future changes.
  • Maintain orderly project files, keeping up to date and ensuring consistent access for relevant parties.
  • Coordinate services of lawyers, engineers, architects, surveyors, land planners, and other professionals for analysis, design, engineering, and construction.
  • Review progress of construction documents and identify areas inconsistent with budget assumptions and design intent.
  • Visit projects monthly or as directed by DM to ensure adherence to plans, desired quality, and schedule maintenance.
  • Support DM in asset management responsibilities and prepare certifications and documentation for ultimate sale.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other employees of Related, subsidiaries, or affiliates in evaluation, acquisition, sale, development, construction, financing, management, or operation of projects or properties.
  • Report to the President of RD and other employees of Related or its subsidiaries or affiliates regarding relevant duties and affairs of RD.
