Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Development Associate to support fundraising and donor engagement. This entry-level role reports to the Senior Director of Development and helps with donor pipeline management, outreach, foundation board support, and special events.

You will gain hands‑on experience in healthcare fundraising while collaborating with development professionals, hospital leadership, and volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Internship, volunteer experience, or early-career exposure in a nonprofit, healthcare, development, or related environment preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting events, donor engagement, administrative coordination, or volunteer activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain donor pipelines and track outreach activities.
  • Prepare materials and schedule meetings for donor communications.
  • Support Foundation Board activities and maintain board records.
  • Assist with planning and executing fundraising events.

Job Summary

The Development Associate is an entry-level position that supports fundraising and donor engagement efforts at Care New England. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, this role assists with donor pipeline management, outreach activities, Foundation Board support, and special events that strengthen donor relationships and advance the organization's mission. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in healthcare fundraising while working closely with development professionals, hospital leadership, and community volunteers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Donor Pipeline & Outreach
    • Assist with maintaining donor and prospect pipelines, including tracking outreach activities, meetings, and follow-up actions.
    • Support donor communications by preparing materials, scheduling meetings, and assisting with correspondence.
    • Help ensure donors receive timely, thoughtful stewardship aligned with Care New England's patient‑centered mission.
  • Foundation Board Support
    • Provide administrative and logistical support for Foundation Board and committee activities.
    • Assist with board communications, meeting preparation, and engagement efforts.
    • Maintain accurate board records, participation tracking, and giving summaries.
  • Special Events & Donor Engagement
    • Support the planning and execution of fundraising and donor engagement events.
    • Assist with invitations, RSVPs, event materials, and post‑event follow‑up.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support successful events.
  • Development Operations & Team Support
    • Maintain accurate donor records and documentation within the donor database.
    • Assist with donor lists, reports, and fundraising summaries.
    • Provide general administrative and project support to the Senior Director of Development and the philanthropy team as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Internship, volunteer experience, or early‑career exposure in a nonprofit, healthcare, development, or related environment preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting events, donor engagement, administrative coordination, or volunteer activities is a plus.
