Job summary

AllPeopleBeHappy, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit, seeks a full-time Development Associate to expand fundraising outcomes, enhance storytelling, and support backend operations.

You will work closely with the CEO and Board, manage fundraising databases, and coordinate content and communications across partners, campaigns, and events.

Qualifications

  • Must embrace AllPeopleBeHappy’s mission and commitment to access to global education for all.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends for community-based learning programs, events, and as needed.
  • Must be based in Pittsburgh, PA and available to go into the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays. Work from home is possible on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, as well as experience and interest in using AI.
  • Experience in fundraising, grants, PR, marketing, or communications.
  • A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a focus to detail and the organizational skills required for effective and efficient processes.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with a wide range of diverse partners.
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required for regional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, implementation, and administration of fundraising campaigns in partnership with the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Track and analyze fundraising performance, conduct donor research, and recommend strategies to strengthen results.
  • Build and maintain relationships with individual, corporate, community, and alumni supporters.
  • Manage fundraising databases, tracking systems, and related technology, including appropriate use of AI tools.
  • Coordinate alumni and other fundraising engagement initiatives and activities.
  • Monitor trends across global education, international development, and philanthropy that may inform engagement and fundraising strategies.
  • Manage the organization’s content pipeline in close partnership with the CEO and marketing/communications vendors.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with site leaders and partner organizations to proactively collect stories, impact updates, photos, videos, testimonials, and other content.
  • Work with staff, board, and community and education partners to create compelling stories and impact moments that can be elevated through social media, email, the website, fundraising campaigns, and PR.
  • Oversee the organization’s newsletter.
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of fundraising and communications materials.
  • Develop and/or coordinate graphic design for proposals, site handbooks, program materials, and other organizational needs.
  • Support the Experiences and Impact teams with essential communications and design projects.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and distribution of program materials.
  • Collaborate across teams to identify and coordinate support needed for fundraising, communications, and organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain strong systems, organization, follow-through, and professional communication across responsibilities.
  • Perform other related duties that support the organization’s mission and priorities.

Job description

AllPeopleBeHappy seeks a full-time Development Associate to support community-based global learning and impact projects. The candidate will primarily be responsible for (1) assisting the CEO and relevant Board Committees in growing fundraising outcomes (2) improving and expanding storytelling promotion, and (3) assisting with backend office operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in fundraising, promotion, PR, marketing, communications, or sales, an eagerness to pitch our high-impact work, and a passion for making the world a better place.

AllPeopleBeHappy is a Pittsburgh-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to connect, inspire, and improve the lives of individuals and communities through global learning experiences and sustainable development projects. Through unique education and community grassroots partnerships, AllPeopleBeHappy is able to offer community-based learning programs and support sustainable community development projects around the world.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compensation: This position is full-time exempt salary. The starting salary range is $44,000 - $54,000 annually. AllPeopleBeHappy offers a very competitive benefits package, including generous paid time off, paid health, vision, and dental insurance coverage, and a matching 401K program.
