About the Role

The Development Associate supports the infrastructure and operations that drive TAAF's revenue generation and donor partnerships. Responsible for stewardship systems and our donor/events CRM ecosystem, this role optimizes key development processes from pipeline to gift reconciliations and database management. You will champion data integrity and streamline team operations to scale our fundraising impact. This role reports to the Senior Development Director.

The ideal candidate is a data-driven development operator who loves building systems that scale fundraising impact. With 5-7 years of experience managing revenue pipelines and CRM infrastructure, you bring deep technical proficiency in Salesforce administration, Excel modeling, and grant lifecycle tracking. You pair rigorous attention to detail and data integrity with a strategic understanding of organizational growth. A natural collaborator, you excel at partnering with Finance and leadership teams, managing donor records with total discretion, and executing complex projects with agility, sound judgement, and humility.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Partnerships team CRM ecosystem to drive operational efficiency and collaborate with the Salesforce Project Manager to build Partnerships team infrastructure and SOPs
  • Partner with team members to identify, implement, migrate information to, and maintain a Salesforce CRM for effective donor management
  • Implement strategies for the proactive identification, cultivation, and stewardship of prospective donors
  • Upload and maintain foundation, corporate, and individual donor records and files
  • Establish governance policies and oversee data architecture and integrity for all foundation, corporate, and individual records
  • Enhance grant lifecycle management by creating advanced tracking mechanisms to monitor fund depletion against program milestones and budgets
  • Generate regular pipeline health reports to forecast revenue and identify gaps in the fundraising funnel
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance team to provide accurate, data-driven grant reporting and insights on funding availability
  • Support development of leadership briefing materials
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Education/Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field of study or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in development, operations, and/or finance
  • Proven track record of developing, maintaining, and optimizing fundraising databases
Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial/pipeline modeling)
  • Strong operational skills to manage complex projects and special events independently or team environments
  • Ability to cultivate positive donor relationships while handling sensitive, confidential information with judgement
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, strong time management, and commitment to personal integrity and humility
Working Hours
  • In-office days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays in our New York City office
  • Remote days: Mondays and Fridays offer work-from-home flexibility
  • Travel: Occasional travel to provide hands‑on support for live events, conferences, and key team activities
  • Occasional weekend, off‑hours or evening work required
