Job summary

CICATELLI ASSOCIATES INC seeks a Development Associate in New York, NY to support identification of funding opportunities, proposal development, and tracking outcomes in a centralized database. The role requires strong writing skills and experience creating organized information systems for grants.

Under the Director of Development, you will draft work plans, coordinate with staff, and manage multiple proposals from concept to submission, including bios, resumes and program descriptions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with proposal writing, proofreading and copy editing.
  • Experience with developing systems to organize information and with databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Zoom (or other virtual meeting software), and Quickbase (or other project management software).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as functioning as a supportive staff member.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks for a variety of contemporaneous projects.
  • Familiarity with public health issues and topics at national/state levels.

Reports To: Director of Development

Employee Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: NYC (CAI has a hybrid work schedule of working 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.)

General Statement of Responsibilities

The Development Associate works under the supervision of the Director of Development to support the identification of funding opportunities (with governmental entities and philanthropies), development and submission of proposals, and tracking proposal development, submission, and outcomes in an organization-wide database. We’re seeking candidates with strong writing experience as well as experience with developing systems to organize information and with databases.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Conduct prospect research and identification of funding opportunities aligned with CAI’s mission and program areas.
  • Develop and/or facilitate collection of proposal documents including org charts, staffing plans, job descriptions, etc.
  • Prepare summary reports, background pieces and concept notes
  • Under the supervision of the Development Director, draft work plans, timelines, and logic models as needed for proposals
  • Work with staff to update resumes, bios and bio-sketches
  • Develop and edit descriptions of program areas, staff and partners for inclusion in grant proposals
  • Actively participate in proposal development meetings, including concept and approach development
  • Schedule in-person and virtual meetings of proposal teams; ensure teams have all relevant notes and application documents in advance of meetings
  • Organize Development Department files and documents; including tracking progress and status of all potential and submitted proposals and bids;maintain related files such as a database of current and potential funders, submitted and pending applications, contracted programs, and past funding relationships.
  • Maintain an electronic system for tracking project and financial reporting timelines and sending prompts and reminders to Project Directors.
  • Support project teams in the electronic submission of progress reports and continuation applications
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $70,000. CAI offers the following benefits:
