Violence Intervention Program, Inc. in New York seeks a Development Assistant to join the Development team.
This full-time, non-exempt position offers hands-on experience in donor stewardship, fundraising administration, database management, and supporting events, including VIP’s annual benefit. You will work closely with the Associate Director of Individual Giving and Operations, engaging donors, partners, and board members.

Established by Black and Latina activists in 1984, the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is NYC’s only culturally specific organization with a mission to address domestic and sexual violence within Latine communities. Each year, we provide intensive support and services to 3,500+ survivors and children and reach 15,000+ community members through community events and preventive education. As Development Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Associate Director of Individual Giving and Operations and gain hands-on experience in donor stewardship, fundraising administration, database management, and special events.
We are a small, but mighty team! We’re looking for someone with strong administrative and organizational skills who is eager to learn, takes pride in getting the details right, and is comfortable jumping in where needed. As part of our small but mighty team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across VIP and interact with donors, partners, and members of our Board of Directors.
