CMHA is looking to hire a full-time, Development and Fundraising Manager for our Community Relations Team. This position will be located at 233 Main Street New Britain, CT 06051. Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm.

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position starts at $74,000.

Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. Summary

The Development and Fundraising Manager will drive CMHAs revenue growth by designing and executing strategies to secure funds from individuals, foundations, and corporations. Key responsibilities include donor cultivation, assistance with grant writing, event planning, and CRM management to meet annual fundraising goals. Research and write private grant applications in collaboration with the Grants Manager. Prepare grant reports for funders. Provides accurate, timely, high quality internal and external communications (print and digital) to support agency strategic direction and development. Assists with planning and implementation of CMHA’s fundraising and external events. Helps develop donor communications; tracks donations and runs reports from donor database to manage donor information and solicitation. Proven experience with private foundation, state and federal grants and excellent writing skills with attention to detail is a must.

Qualifications

Essential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes

• Serves as a community ambassador for CMHA by representing the organization on internal and external committees, work groups, and community initiatives.
• Develops and cultivates relationships with corporations, private foundations, community partners, donors, and other key stakeholders to advance CMHA’s mission and fundraising priorities.
• Researches, develops, and submits corporate and private foundation proposals and appeals to secure funding in support of agency programs and strategic initiatives.
• Prepares timely, compelling grant reports and supporting materials for funders in collaboration with the Grants Manager and program staff.
• Leads community engagement and relationship-building efforts through strategic networking, outreach, partnership development, volunteer engagement, and fundraising activities.
• Collaborates closely with the Marketing Director to develop, coordinate, and execute CMHA’s fundraising and external events, including the Annual Meeting, agency-wide annual appeals, donor cultivation events, and other special events.
• Supports the planning and implementation of capital campaign initiatives, including donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, communications, and campaign activities.
• Develops and coordinates donor communications, including solicitation letters, acknowledgments, newsletters, email campaigns, impact updates, and other donor engagement materials.
• Plans and implements internal and external fundraising campaigns designed to increase donor participation, community awareness, and financial support.
• Tracks and evaluates development activities, community engagement efforts, and fundraising outcomes to support organizational goals and identify opportunities for growth.
• Meets or exceeds fundraising and development benchmarks established by CMHA’s Executive Team.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field preferred.

Credentials and Licenses

Valid Connecticut driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Experience

• Proven track record in development and fundraising campaigns to include capital campaigns.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in marketing, communications, preparing grant applications and reports, and event planning, public relations/development, strongly preferred.
• Desktop publishing skills, writing and editing, and website content management are mandatory.
• Experience with grant writing and grant reporting.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as graphics software and website content management.
• Writing samples and portfolio required.
