We are expanding our development team with the addition of a Development Analyst who has experience or a solid understanding of real estate development and financial analysis, particularly in multifamily housing. This role will be involved in the entire development life cycle.

Job Description

The Development Analyst will focus primarily on multifamily projects, especially those involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). This role will be assigned to a development team and will report to the Development Lead and will essentially support the Development Department and collaborate closely with teams in accounting, asset management, capital strategies, and construction.

Responsibilities

The Development Analyst’s responsibilities shall include assisting with the following:

• Support the development team in all phases of the multifamily development process, including due diligence, entitlements, design, financing, and construction
• Assist with the preparation and submission of LIHTC applications and other public funding proposals in coordination with consultants and state housing agencies
• Maintain development checklists and timelines to ensure key project milestones and deadlines are met
• Collaborate with internal departments, external consultants, architects, engineers, legal counsel, and municipal agencies to gather and track necessary documentation
• Conduct market research, demographic analysis, and site feasibility studies to support deal sourcing and underwriting
• Prepare and update project proformas, budgets, and financial models under the guidance of senior team members
• Assist with project presentations and materials for internal review, investment committee, and public meetings
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, funding obligations, and LIHTC program criteria throughout the development process
• Organize and manage project files, funding documentation, and due diligence materials in both digital and physical formats
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the development team, including scheduling, data entry, and coordination of project meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, real estate or other related field (MRED, MSF or relevant master’s a plus)
• 1-2 years of experience with a strong desire to start and build a career in multifamily development and willingness to be a key member of the team
• Highly analytical and results driven
• Knowledge of LIHTC, public financing programs, and affordable housing policy
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to prepare in-depth data and research analysis
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Flexible, adaptable, and highly organized, with strong time management and prioritization abilities.

Compensation

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: TBD, DOE

• Eligibility for Lotus Company’s employee benefit package including health, dental, and vision insurance, where eligibility begins 30 days after employment. Lotus pays up to $1,430 a month towards premiums.
• Paid Time Off (PTO) – 15 Days as accrued throughout year.
• 10 Paid Holidays as detailed in Lotus Holiday Calendar.
• 401K enrollment (dollar-for-dollar match for the first 3% of your pay that you contribute, plus 50% of your contributions that are in excess of 3%, but do not exceed 5% of your pay. – with a minimum 6-month employment required prior to enrollment)
