Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Development and Alumni Communications Professional in Athens to support Franklin College’s communications efforts related to development, alumni relations and donor engagement. You will collaborate with the Franklin MarCom team and university partners to identify and coordinate stories for newsletters, websites, solicitations and events.

Strong writing and editing skills, editorial judgment and project coordination are essential as you help ensure content

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, English or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2 years of professional experience.
• Strong writing and editing skills with editorial judgment.
• Ability to coordinate projects and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the communications contact for Franklin College DAR within the Franklin MarCom team.
• Identify, develop and coordinate alumni, donor and advancement stories for newsletters, web content, solicitations and events.
• Translate academic, donor and alumni information into clear, audience-centered communications.
• Maintain awareness of upcoming solicitations, campaigns, events and priorities to align content.
• Coordinate newsletters content and workflows with internal and external partners.
