Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Development and Alumni Communications Professional to support communications for development, alumni relations and college newsletters. The role collaborates with Franklin College MarCom and DAR teams, academic departments and central university partners.

The position requires strong writing and editing skills, a track record in advancement communications, and the ability to translate complex academic work into compelling stories for donors and alumni.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, English or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, advancement communications, alumni communications, development communications, editorial work or related work.
• Experience with alumni, donor communications and college newsletters.
• Ability to translate academic/research information into clear, audience-centered communications.
• Ability to manage content across multiple channels and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as communications point of contact for Franklin College DAR/MarCom projects.
• Identify and coordinate alumni profiles, donor impact stories and departmental content for web, newsletters, events and solicitations.
• Draft and edit alumni, donor and advancement materials and coordinate with designers, photographers and vendors.
• Support newsletter workflows, content calendars and performance review of communications.
• Collaborate with academic units, development officers and central university partners to align priorities and messaging.
