Job Description

The Software Development Test Engineer (SDET) helps deliver the quality and performance of large scale, big data, custom hardware multi-platform software products that include web, API, and mobile application interfaces. Incumbents in this position are experienced, hands-on, and self-motivated engineers who can work collaboratively in a continuous integration environment. This role involves working closely with Software Developers and Agile teams, leveraging shift-left testing methods to understand complex domains and products. The SDET focuses on developing automated functional, integration, and end-to-end tests using open source frameworks for system testing within an Agile setting. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction.

Responsibilities
  • Test complex API, web, and mobile applications referencing database back-end systems.
  • Create and maintain automated test cases, execute test suites, review and diagnose bugs, and ensure system quality before release.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test suites through continuous integration for value-added feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to derive testing requirements throughout the development cycle.
  • Reproduce, debug, isolate problems, and verify fixes.
  • Work closely with developers to create test plans, cases, procedures, and reports.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional internal teams in an agile environment.
  • Estimate testing tasks and work independently with a positive team attitude.
  • Participate in performance testing and analysis of web services architecture.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in Software Development & Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with Serenity framework.
  • Strong in writing clear, concise test cases.
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Proficient in Java and Selenium.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and process management.
  • Familiar with Behavior Driven Development and Test-Driven Development.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Intermediate understanding of CICD, GitHub, Maven, Rest Assure API, and DOM concepts.
  • Able to identify risks and errors in applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
