Supabase is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer based in New York to create high-impact content, build real-world demos, and represent the platform across communities and events. You will combine coding with teaching to help developers discover and adopt Supabase.
The role emphasizes video/scripted content, public speaking, and cross-functional collaboration, with remote-first policies and a NYC-focused in-person component for shoots.
This Developer Relations Engineer role at Supabase sits at a highly strategic intersection of engineering, content creation, and community building — a combination that's increasingly rare and valuable in the developer tools market.
Compensation context: No salary is listed, but DevRel Engineers at well-funded developer tools companies (Series F, $1B+ raised) in New York typically earn $140,000–$200,000 base, plus equity. The ESOP component here could be meaningful given Supabase's growth trajectory and valuation.
Skills you'll build:
Green flags: Supabase is a Series F company with $1B+ raised and 540,000+ community members — late enough to be stable, early enough for meaningful equity upside. The async-first, born-remote culture signals strong work-life balance. An education allowance and professional development budget indicate investment in employee growth.
Career trajectory: DevRel at a high-growth open-source platform is an excellent launchpad into Head of DevRel, VP of Developer Experience, or technical founding roles at startups. Building a public audience (YouTube, Twitter) through this role compounds your personal brand independently of any employer.
Potential consideration: The NYC in-person requirement narrows the talent pool but also signals this is a high-visibility, production-quality content role — not a catch-all community manager position.
