ZipStaff is hiring a senior Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 to lead automation, system integration and data modernization for a state public health agency in Austin, TX. This 4-month hybrid contract starts December 1, 2026, with 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

You will assess requirements for eICR ingestion, develop automated data pipelines, dashboards and integrations, and document technical specifications to advance interoperability in public health data.

Qualifications

• 8+ years developing, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting SAS, Python, R or similar programming scripts.
• 8+ years in system integration, dashboard creation and automation for interoperability workflows.
• 8+ years working with structured or semi-structured health, public health or other complex administrative data, with strong database and querying knowledge.
• 8+ years documenting system requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• 8+ years testing and validating automated data-integration solutions, and documenting code and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical staff.
• Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX on a hybrid schedule.

About the Opportunity:

ZipStaff is hiring a senior Developer/Programmer Analyst 3 for a state public health agency to lead programming automation, system integration and data modernization work. You'll assess the business and technical requirements for ingesting electronic Initial Case Reports (eICRs) and auto-populating registry data fields to reduce manual record abstraction. This is a 4-month hybrid contract in Austin, TX starting December 1, 2026, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years with electronic case reporting (eCR/eICR), Electronic Health Records or Health Information Exchange.
• Experience with HL7, XML or FHIR, and SNOMED CT or other clinical terminology standards.
• 2+ years with SQL and relational databases, public health surveillance systems or registries, and data linkage and matching.
• Experience building automated data pipelines or ETL processes.
