Job summary

Huxley in Palo Alto is hiring a Developer Experience (DevEx) Engineer to help define how engineers build, test, deploy, and operate software across the organization. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of DevEx, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, and AI-powered enablement.

You will build and improve internal developer platforms, create self-service infrastructure and workflows, and drive standardization of tooling and processes to boost productivity and developer happiness

Qualifications

• Experience in DevEx, Platform Engineering, Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) or related engineering functions.
• Strong software engineering background with emphasis on developer tooling and automation.
• Experience building internal platforms, developer portals, or self-service infrastructure.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
• Interest in leveraging AI to enhance software development.

They're seeking a Developer Experience (DevEx) Engineer to help define and improve how engineers build, test, deploy, and operate software across the organization. This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of Developer Experience, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, and AI-powered Engineering Enablement.

What You'll Be Working On

• Building and improving internal developer platforms
• Creating self-service infrastructure and engineering workflows
• Developing and enhancing developer portals and tooling
• Driving platform standardization and engineering best practices
• Improving CI/CD, development environments, and deployment experiences
• Designing AI-assisted engineering workflows and productivity solutions
• Enabling engineers to provision, deploy, and manage services through self-service capabilities

What We're Looking For

• Experience in Developer Experience (DevEx), Platform Engineering, Internal Developer Platforms, or related engineering functions
• Strong software engineering background with an emphasis on developer tooling and automation
• Experience building internal platforms, developer portals, or self-service infrastructure
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and modern engineering practices
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, and platform tooling
• Passion for improving engineering productivity and developer happiness
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams
• Interest in leveraging AI to enhance software development and engineering workflows

Preferred Experience

• Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure experience
• Platform engineering or site reliability engineering backgrounds
• Experience implementing Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs)
• Exposure to Backstage or similar developer portal technologies
• Experience integrating AI tools into engineering processes and workflows
• Startup or high-growth technology company experience
