Job summary

Alianza is seeking an experienced API technical writer to partner with Product, Engineering, and Support Business Engineering teams in building developer documentation for the Alianza Developer Portal and API suites.

This role sits within the existing technical writing team and focuses on developer-facing content — documenting structure, workflows, and style guidelines to ensure seamless integrations with Alianza’s APIs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years creating technical docs, with at least 3 years focused on API or developer-facing content.
• Proven REST API documentation experience with references, auth flows, errors, and code samples.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger and related tools.
• Excellent English writing and technical style.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and coordinate with SMEs.
• Portfolio of developer-facing docs including API references and guides.
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, and maintain API reference docs, developer guides, tutorials, and release notes.
• Evaluate and refine generated docs from OpenAPI pipelines and provide structured feedback.
• Define API documentation processes and iterate workflows for consistency.
• Create and maintain an API documentation style guide.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and other teams for accurate information.
• Review and edit existing docs for clarity and accuracy.
• Attend product demos to stay updated on API changes and deprecations.
• Gather feedback from developers and iterate content accordingly.
• Work with Oxygen XML and Paligo on tooling initiatives.
• Deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment with autonomy.
