Bluebox (a Dynatrace brand) is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to serve as the public face in developer communities, delivering demos, technical content, and live sessions. You will surface friction to Product and Engineering and drive sign-ups and real usage.

You will work independently, build demos, publish content, and speak at events while traveling up to 25% for conferences and workshops. This role emphasizes developer trust and rapid adoption in a growth environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in developer-facing roles, including time as a working software developer.
• Public body of work (talks, posts, repos, videos, streams) under your own name.
• Hands-on coding: able to build demos and sample projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Represent Bluebox publicly under your own name and voice across developer platforms.
• Build and manage community presence (Discord, Hacker News, Reddit, Bluesky, X).
• Produce original technical content: deep dives, walkthroughs, demos, blog posts, videos, and livestreams.

• Collect and synthesize developer feedback and translate friction into actionable product recommendations.
• Co-create with influencers and community partners; coordinate placements with Marketing.
• Be measured on sign-ups and actual product usage rather than vanity metrics.

Role

You will be the public face and voice of Bluebox (a Dynatrace brand) in developer communities, building credibility by shipping demos, publishing technical content, running livestreams/workshops, speaking at events, and surfacing developer friction to Product and Engineering. The role is individual-contributor focused and measured on sign-ups and real Bluebox usage.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent Bluebox publicly under your own name and voice across developer platforms.
• Build and manage community presence (Discord, Hacker News, Reddit, Bluesky, X).
• Produce original technical content: deep dives, walkthroughs, demos, blog posts, videos, and livestreams.
• Run workshops, tutorials, and conference talks to drive adoption.
• Collect and synthesize developer feedback and translate friction into actionable product recommendations.
• Co-create with influencers and community partners; coordinate placements with Marketing.
• Be measured on sign-ups and actual product usage rather than vanity metrics.

Requirements

• At least 3 years in developer-facing roles, including time as a working software developer.
• Public body of work (talks, posts, repos, videos, streams) under your own name.
• Hands-on coding: able to build demos and sample projects independently.
• Daily use of AI coding agents (examples named: Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Kiro) as core infrastructure.
• Production instincts and experience with on-call or incident debugging.
• Startup or growth-stage experience and comfort with fast, non-deterministic growth.
• Willingness to travel up to ~25% for events and conferences.
• Independent operator comfortable owning strategy and delivery as the primary Developer Advocate.
• Ability to communicate candidly, both publicly and internally, about what is and isn't working.

Nice to Have

• Experience with observability, SRE, incident response, or developer tooling.
• Open-source contributions.
• Experience building a brand voice from scratch.
