Job summary

ServiceNow seeks a experienced Developer Advocate to grow our global developer ecosystem. You will author content, create code samples, and host workshops to engage communities and accelerate adoption of the ServiceNow platform.

You’ll lead media like blogs and videos, participate in conferences, and help scale our Developer Advocate team’s content production while collaborating with product and marketing teams for impactful experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Developer Advocate or in Developer Relations, or related developer success experience.
• 6+ years as a Developer or Engineer across cloud software, PaaS, SaaS.
• Experience speaking at tech conferences, blogging, video and technical articles; open-source contributions.
• Excellent communication as a writer and public speaker; strong relationship building in digital environments.
• Travel up to 20% annually.

Responsibilities

• Attract and enable a thriving developer ecosystem through proactive engagement and learning oriented outreach.
• Create content (blogs, videos, code samples, workshops, webinars) to establish credibility as a technical peer.
• Support production needs of the Developer Advocate team and scale content creation.
• Plan and execute developer experiences like hackathons, workshops, and meetups.
• Build events and meetups to foster community collaboration.
• Educate developers on why to build on ServiceNow and grow developer awareness through social media and blogs.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Events, and Campaigns to deliver content.

Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

• Attract, inspire, and enable a thriving ecosystem through proactive direct engagement, with a bias toward ‘learning and listening’ and transforming community members into champions.
• Establish yourself as a trusted technical peer and community advocate by generating innovative content, whether it is blog posts, videos, code examples, workshops, webinars, etc. You will have tremendous freedom in this space to be creative and generative.
• As you grow in this role, you will support production needs of the Developer Advocate team, helping scale content creation.
• Identify, plan, and execute amazing developer experiences like hackathons, workshops, and meetups
• Help build and scale events and meetups to drive community collaboration.
• Help your established networks of developers understand why they want to be developing on ServiceNow
• Participate in social media and blogging activities to drive developer awareness
• Identify and drive action on new channels to reach and engage with developers
• Partner with a cross functional team including Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Events and Campaigns team to deliver our developer program content.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• 3+ years of experience as a Developer Advocate or Developer Relations team member or related experience supporting Developer success.
• 6+ years of experience as a Developer or Engineer across any relevant disciplines including cloud software development, PaaS, SaaS.
• ServiceNow experience a bonus, but not necessary. A willingness to learn is!
• Video creation experience a plus, especially using Premier Pro.
• Experience speaking at technology conferences, blogging, video, and writing technical articles and contributing to popular open-source projects.
• Excellent communication skills as both a strong technical writer and a dynamic public speaker.
• Proven strong relationship building, especially in digital environments, to interact with peers, colleagues, customers, and third parties
• Travel: Up to 20% annually
