Job summary

Island Staffing is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise reporting for a large ERP implementation in the San Diego area. You will translate business requirements into high-performing BI solutions using Snowflake data sources.

The role requires 2+ years of Power BI development, strong data modeling, DAX, and familiarity with ERP processes such as Finance, Procurement, and HR. This is a hybrid on-site role in San Diego.

Job description

18-month contract – Hybrid in San Diego area

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to support the design, development, and delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics for a large-scale ERP implementation. The developer will work closely with functional and technical teams to translate business and reporting requirements into intuitive, accurate, and high-performing Power BI solutions using data sourced from Snowflake.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience, including:
• Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Data modeling and development of semantic models
• DAX measures and calculations
• Power Query / M for data preparation and transformation
• Report and dashboard development, including drill-downs, filters, and interactive visualizations
• Row-level security and role-based reporting
• Performance tuning and optimization of datasets, models, and reports
• Publishing, workspaces, deployment, refresh scheduling, and lifecycle management
• 2+ years of experience with Snowflake, including SQL development, querying, views, and working with enterprise data models.
• Familiarity with ERP business processes and data within one or more of the following areas:
• Finance / Accounting
• Procurement / Supply Chain
• Human Resources / Payroll
• Experience translating business requirements into reporting and analytics solutions.
• Strong data validation and reconciliation skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple reports, requirements, and priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business analysts, functional SMEs, data engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Demonstrated innovation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify better ways to present, analyze, and use enterprise data.

Preferred

• Experience developing paginated reports using Power BI (formerly SSRS Report Builder).
• Experience supporting an ERP implementation, modernization, or legacy reporting migration.
• Experience developing reports against complex financial or operational data.
• Understanding of reporting governance, testing, documentation, and production deployment practices.
