Job summary

The Salvation Army in Cleveland is seeking a clerical assistant to support the counseling staff and program manager in Substance Abuse programs. This 3rd shift role involves clerical tasks, patient-related support, and coordination of daily operations on the Detox floor.

You will answer calls, assist with initial screenings, and help with meal coordination and documentation. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, with duties that include assisting night staff and maintaining a clean,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Must be able to use stairs for evacuations, drills, or elevator maintenance.
• Read and write legibly; good communication skills are essential.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or in process of obtaining it.
• Effective in dealing with the public and/or intoxicated individuals.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone and assist callers; complete client initial screening sheet and file for future use.
• Assist night nurse with client care (alert clients for vital checks and medications) if applicable.
• Prepare client meal list daily; issue meal tickets; secure meals for Detox floor clients; escort to dining room as needed.
• Prepare daily team leader report and file in Manager's mailbox.
• Coordinate cleanliness of client rooms, bathrooms, day room and common areas on the Detox floor.
• Complete laundry and clothes washing; file client records.
• Other duties as designated by the ADAS manager and/or Executive Director

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone and assist callers as needed, complete client "initial screening sheet" and file for future use and review.


• If applicable, assist the night nurse with client care - ie alert clients when needed by the nurse for vital checks and medications.


• Prepare client meal list daily, issue client meal tickets, secure meals for clients confined to the Detox floor. Ready clients for breakfast, escort to dining room, if needed.


• Complete daily "team leader" report, fine in Manager's mailbox.


• Coordinate cleanliness of client rooms, bathrooms, day room and common areas on the Detox floor.


• Complete laundry and clothes washing as needed.


• Complete filing of client records - yellow and white cards on top of the filing cabinet


• Other duties as designated by the ADAS manager and/or Executive Director

• Must be able to use stairs, when necessary, for building evacuations, drills or during elevator maintenance.


• Read and write legibly. Good communication skills.
