Job summary

Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness (WPHW) seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care for clients in detox. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery, ensure comfort, and maintain professional boundaries.

Qualified candidates hold a Maine CNA certificate, BLS/First Aid, and are able to commute reliably. The role is full-time with benefits, and starting pay is $22.00 per hour with potential increases based on shift and experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Maine Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid training, or complete training within the first 60 days of hire.
• One (1) year of detox experience preferred.
• Experience working in Tribal Communities preferred.
• Valid State of Maine Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient assistance with activities of daily living and basic health care needs.
• Monitor client’s vital signs as ordered or per protocol.
• Escort patients to appointments and set up medical equipment.
• Prepare rooms for admissions.
• Administer random urinalysis as instructed.
• Complete suicide risk assessment on new admissions and as needed.
• Screen for danger to self or others.
• Update medical and clinical team regularly regarding client care.
