Job summary

Mayflower Recovery is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support patient safety and care in a detox setting. The BHT serves as a liaison between patients and clinical staff, conducting rounds, observing patients, and reporting concerns. The role includes night, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of a 24-hour operation.

Responsibilities cover safety checks, group facilitation, and documentation of observations. Strong communication, de-escalation skills, and HIPAA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in SUD/Mental Health preferred.
• CPR certification and First Aid required.
• Massachusetts Driver’s License required.
• 12 Step knowledge and addiction treatment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient activity, location, and safety at all times.
• Conduct educational, recreational and therapeutic activities/groups.
• Observe and interact with patients in all areas of the facility.
• Circulate throughout the treatment center to ensure safety during each shift.
• Observe patients to detect behavior patterns and report observations to medical staff.
• Complete rounds on time and check life signs during rounds.
