Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks a First Line Manager for the DP-1 Product Engineering Group in Los Alamos, NM. This leadership role directs engineers and scientists, serving as the technical interface to design agencies and internal operations throughout the product life cycle.

The role emphasizes developing future leaders, ensuring compliance with weapon product realization processes, and maintaining strong external relationships with NNSA and program offices.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience mentoring employees and developing leaders.
• Expert knowledge of engineering processes as applied to weapon components.
• Knowledge of DOE/DoD quality and program processes.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams across multiple organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Product Realization initiatives with project leaders and design agencies.
• Ensure compliance with product realization and quality standards.
• Coordinate development, qualification, and production activities across groups.
• Develop and implement group metrics aligned with production goals.
• Interface with NNSA, design agencies, program offices, and internal stakeholders.
• Support succession planning and workforce development within the group.
