Allied Universal is hiring a Detention Security Officer - Entry Control in Columbia, SC to protect clients and maintain a secure, welcoming environment. In this Unarmed Patrol role you will monitor facilities, control access, assist customers, and respond to incidents with calm, clear communication.

You will conduct regular patrols, report hazards, and support site-specific policies while upholding the company’s standards of integrity and service.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local law.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

As a Detention Security Officer - Entry Control in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols around the facility, grounds, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
