Allied Universal in Columbia, SC is seeking a Detention Facility Security Officer - Badge Control. In this role you will serve clients, patrol assigned areas, and support access control while maintaining professional communication with staff and visitors.

Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to incidents, patrolling perimeters, and ensuring security procedures are followed. Full-time position with a pay rate of $17.95/hour and standard security-related requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Job Description

As a Detention Facility Security Officer - Badge Control in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate professionally with visitors and staff while responding to security-related concerns with integrity. Pay Rate: $17.95 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols around the location and perimeter, as assigned.
• Monitor for unusual activity and report observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Assist with access control and visitor interactions as directed by site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
