Job summary

The role requires tact and firmness when working with violent, suicidal, or mentally disturbed inmates, as well as alertness and sound judgment in unusual situations. Work is under the close supervision of the Detention Center Major and evaluated by records and inspections.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age
• Background check, psychological evaluation, physical, and drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Perform general law enforcement duties related to the safety, detention, and security of prisoners on an assigned shift
• Exercise tact and firmness when dealing with violent, suicidal, and mentally disturbed inmates
• Work under the close supervision of the Detention Center Major and be evaluated through conferences, review of records, and inspections
