Job summary

Randolph County, NC Detention Center is seeking a dependable officer to perform general law enforcement duties focused on the safety, detention, and security of prisoners on an assigned shift.

The role requires tact and firmness when working with violent, suicidal, or mentally disturbed inmates, as well as alertness and sound judgment in unusual situations. Work is under the close supervision of the Detention Center Major and evaluated by records and inspections.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age
• Background check, psychological evaluation, physical, and drug screen required

Work is performed in accordance with established detention center management policies and procedures and supplemented by specific instructions as necessary. The employee is subject to the usual hazards of detention center management work. Minimum Education And Experience

Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Must be 21 years of age. Good Moral Character, must pass background check, psychological evaluation, physical, and drug screen.
