Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in food preparation.
• ServSafe Certification in food safety or ability to obtain it.
• Must meet the minimum standards set by NC for detention facility personnel.

Responsibilities

• Plans standard menus and prepares special diet menus for inmate population.
• Maintains records of inmates served.
• Monitors and inventories stock.
• Participates in preparation of complete meals in the County Detention Center kitchen.
• Performs kitchen work including cooking and baking.
• Cleans, washes dishes, and stocks inventory.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
