Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is hiring for a detainee intake coordination role in Adelanto, CA. The position focuses on development, coordination and maintenance of the intake process and master roster for newly arriving detainees/inmates.

You will ensure proper identification, authorization, and documentation throughout admissions. As a supervisor, you will oversee counts, security procedures, and staff training while maintaining daily logs and reports.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in a correctional setting, supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be mature, flexible and able to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the intake process and master roster for newly arrived detainees/inmates.
• Confirms legal authority to admit and accurate identification of detainees/inmates.
• Reviews admission documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Searches incoming detainee property for contraband and conducts shakedowns.
• Coordinates detainee movements, transfer records, counts, and provides emergency response.
• Conducts strip searches as needed per policy.
• Supervises detainees in the intake area and other areas as needed.
• Directs work of count room staff and supervising employees including hiring and discipline.
• Prepares reports and maintains daily logs as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
