Job summary

Acuity International in Cape Canaveral, FL seeks a Safety Manager to design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health Program inside a secure detention facility. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of safety experience in corrections or similar environments.
• Safety certifications such as CHST, OHST, or ASP preferred.
• Must be able to obtain necessary clearances for detention facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the facility’s Safety and Occupational Health Program in compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards.
• Conduct routine facility-wide safety inspections and document corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses with corrective action planning.
• Provide safety training, drills, and ongoing coaching for staff and contractors.
• Maintain safety documentation, logs, permits, and inspection records.
• Monitor operations to ensure safe practices and hazard controls are in place.
• Coordinate with leadership, Quality Control, Environmental, and government representatives.
• Serve as on-site authority for safety and health matters.
• Ensure PPE compliance and emergency procedures; support drills and preparedness.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field
