Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to credibly testify in a court of law.
• Must undergo a thorough physical and psychological examination and pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise jail inmates and related activities.
• Maintain security and safety of facilities, inmates and employees by surveillance.
• Monitor cameras, alarms, doors and security controls.
• Interact with inmates by enforcing rules and facility regulations.
• Conduct inmate counts and searches; prevent contraband and weapons entry.
• Respond to emergencies and de-escalate incidents; mediate conflicts among inmates.
