Job summary

Pima County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a Corrections Cook to prepare meals for youth and support the detention facility's mission and safety standards. Under supervision, you will handle food handling, sanitation, and routine kitchen tasks while assisting with laundry duties as needed.

The role emphasizes adherence to AZ Detention Standards, safe operation of equipment, and timely food service to units within the center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent, and one year of cooking experience in large-scale institutional food preparation.
• Part of the one year of experience may be substituted by coursework in quantity food preparation, nutrition, sanitation, hygiene, or related subjects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Prepare nutritious meals per meal schedules and ensure items are stocked and ready.
• Review daily menus and meal counts and assist in food item preparation and delivery to units.
