Job summary

Pima County Juvenile Court is seeking a Corrections Cook I to prepare and deliver meals for Youth at the Pima Juvenile Detention Center. Under supervision, you will follow food safety standards and use proper handling, sanitation, and cleaning schedules.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and at least one year of large-scale cooking experience; the position is full-time with pay range $17.90–$19.46 per hour, and opportunities to support the community.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of kitchen safety, hygiene and sanitary methods used in food preparation, health regulations, and related activities.
• Must have skill in operating food preparation equipment safely.
• Able to prioritize competing demands and to be flexible, proactive, and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Prepares nutritious meals to be cooked and ready in accordance with meal schedules.
• Reviews daily menus and meal counts, ensures necessary food items are stocked and fresh, and prepares food items for use as appropriate.
