Job summary

GE HealthCare in Wisconsin is seeking a skilled technician to help produce detector arrays for imaging systems. You will read simple and complex instructions, interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, and operate precision equipment in a controlled environment to build high-tolerance assemblies.

You will maintain process control charts, perform rework as needed, and collaborate with a manufacturing team to ensure quality, safety and on-time production.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to use standard mechanical and electrical measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform assembly work requiring high level of bi—modal and fine motor dexterity.
  • May require the wearing of a respirator.
  • Must pass GE Healthcare vision test and medical screenings for clean room environment.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detector arrays for imaging systems with precision.
  • Assemble, machine, inspect and test delicate ceramic, mechanical and electrical parts.
  • Identify defective components and perform rework as needed.
  • Maintain and interpret process control charts.
  • Set up and tear down complex computer controlled machines.
  • Support efficient production through miscellaneous tasks.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions Include
  • Perform a variety of electrical, mechanical and chemical operations required to produce detector arrays for imaging systems.
  • Process, assemble, machine, inspect, and test a variety of delicate and intricate ceramic, mechanical, and electrical assemblies from written and verbal instructions.
  • Recognize defective parts, perform appropriate rework; fit and adjust tools as required.
  • Maintain and interpret process control charts.
  • May be required to set up and tear down complex computer controlled mechanical and electrical machines.
  • Perform work of a miscellaneous nature whenever it is conducive to efficient operation and/or maintaining production.

Required Qualifications

  • May require the use/wearing of a respirator.
  • Have passed the visually related jobs group #2 vision test administered by the GE Healthcare Medical Center
  • Must be free of medical restrictions which could be conducive to a clean
  • room environment*
  • Have passed physical screenings necessary to wear required personal protective equipment*
  • Able to discriminate visually to perform various checks*
  • Able to discriminate auditorially to perform noise checks*
  • Bending motions from waist required*
  • Able to handle/lift various parts/assemblies*
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motion required*
  • Extended period of standing/sitting*
