Job summary

Pinterest is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to build and improve detection and response capabilities across our cloud-first environment. You will develop automation, manage logging pipelines, and hunt for threats while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen our security posture.

You’ll work with AI-augmented workflows to accelerate detection and response, with on-call incidents and an in-office requirement 1–2 times every six months. US-based applicants only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience writing SIEM queries for alerting, response, and threat hunting.
• Experience with telemetry sources: EDR, Osquery, Firewall logs.
• Strong knowledge of intrusion detection and incident response in a cloud-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Build alerts and automation workflows to detect and respond to threats.
• Manage logging pipelines and onboard new logging sources to improve detection coverage.
• Develop and maintain internal tooling to expand and automate detection capabilities.
• Respond to alerts generated from tooling and run incidents on an on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with cross-team partners.
• Hunt for previously undetected threats in the environment.
• Leverage AI to streamline and enhance security engineering workflows.
• Use AI responsibly with verification and data validation.
