Job summary

Quantum Sky is seeking a Detection Engineer to join the DCO team supporting DISA PAC at Ford Island, HI. You will engineer, test, deploy, and de-conflict custom detection signatures and blocking actions across global sensors and cloud environments.

The role spans Unclassified to Top Secret/SCI, requiring liaison with threat intel and incident response, and ensuring mission continuity under strict government standards. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field with 2+ years of cyber operations/ CND experience.
• Must hold DoD 8140.03/DCWF 521-compliant certification prior to start date.
• Proven experience writing, testing, and deploying intrusion signatures and firewall rules.
• Strong knowledge of DoD security policies and incident tracking practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and deploy custom detection signatures across enterprise sensors and cloud points.
• Tune perimeter defenses across multiple DISA boundaries and DMZs.
• Analyze telemetry from automated blocking tools and refine algorithms to reduce false positives/negatives.
• Document countermeasure deployments and maintain configuration management.
