Job summary

Greenbrier Chevrolet is seeking a Detailer to clean, refurbish, and finish both new and used vehicles to dealership and manufacturer standards. You will prepare cars for delivery and showroom presentation, ensuring a pristine look.

Ideal candidates have prior detailing or automotive cleaning experience, strong attention to detail, and a professional appearance. The role operates in a fast-paced shop and requires adherence to safety and time standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exteriors and clean interior/exterior windows
• Wipe down doorjambs and ensure all surfaces are clean
• Apply wax and buff vehicle surfaces
• Vacuum vehicle interiors to remove dirt and debris
• Clean upholstery, carpets, and surfaces using proper cleaning agents and equipment
• Apply revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl, leather, and fabric surfaces
• Clean engines and engine compartments using appropriate equipment
• Inspect vehicles for defects such as scratches, dents, or upholstery issues
• Maintain showroom and stock vehicles in presentable condition
• Keep work area neat, clean, and safe
• Operate all tools and equipment safely
• Report safety issues immediately to management
• Perform other tasks as assigned

About the Role

The Detailer cleans, refurbishes, and finishes new and used automobiles according to dealership and manufacturer standards. This role ensures vehicles are prepared to the highest quality for customer delivery and showroom presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash vehicle exteriors and clean interior/exterior windows
• Wipe down doorjambs and ensure all surfaces are clean
• Apply wax and buff vehicle surfaces
• Vacuum vehicle interiors to remove dirt and debris
• Clean upholstery, carpets, and surfaces using proper cleaning agents and equipment
• Apply revitalizers and preservation agents to vinyl, leather, and fabric surfaces
• Clean engines and engine compartments using appropriate equipment
• Remove foreign materials using special-purpose cleaners
• Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects such as scratches, dents, or upholstery issues
• Restore appearance of interior, exterior, and engine areas using proper tools and products
• Use personal protective equipment when required
• Fill vehicles with fuel as needed
• Apply tire dressing and clean wheel wells
• Replace small missing or defective parts as needed
• Maintain showroom and stock vehicles in presentable condition
• Ensure proper stickers are displayed or removed on vehicles
• Keep work area neat, clean, and safe
• Operate all tools and equipment safely
• Report safety issues immediately to management
• Perform other tasks as assigned
