Job summary

Swickard Auto Group's Gresham Toyota store is seeking an entry-level Detail Technician. No prior detailing experience required; we train you in our process and products from day one.

The role focuses on thorough interior and exterior detailing to guest-ready standards. You'll work in a high-volume environment with flat-rate pay between $19 and $22 per hour, and you'll move vehicles between bays, service lanes, and lots.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of detailing experience preferred; comparable experience in auto body, car wash, recon, or similar backgrounds encouraged.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable standing and using hands throughout shift.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated; flat-rate detailing rewards efficiency.
• Reliable and punctual; detailing is a critical part of daily operation.
• Prior detailing, auto body, or car wash experience a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on vehicles—washing, vacuuming, shampooing, polishing, and protecting surfaces to a guest-ready standard.
• Prepare new vehicle deliveries — ensure spotless, staged, and presentation-ready vehicles for guests.
• Recondition pre-owned and trade-in vehicles to frontline-ready condition efficiently and accurately.
• Perform post-service vehicle cleaning as directed — return serviced vehicles clean and presentable.
• Move vehicles safely between the detail bay, service lane, and lot as needed.
• Document completed work and flag any paint, interior, or body damage discovered.

The Detail Technician is the last set of hands on that vehicle before the guest sees it, and that standard matters. No prior detailing experience required -- we'll train you on our process and our products from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, pre-owned, and service vehicles -- washing, vacuuming, shampooing, polishing, and protecting surfaces to a consistent, guest-ready standard
• Prepare new vehicle deliveries -- ensuring every vehicle is spotless, correctly staged, and presentation-ready before it reaches the guest
• Recondition pre-owned and trade-in vehicles -- bringing interiors and exteriors to frontline-ready condition efficiently and accurately
• Perform post-service vehicle cleaning as directed -- returning service guests' vehicles clean and presentable
• Move vehicles safely between the detail bay, service lane, and lot as needed
• Document completed work accurately and flag any paint, interior, or body damage discovered during the detail process

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of detailing experience preferred -- candidates with comparable experience from auto body, car wash, recon, or other hands-on vehicle care backgrounds are encouraged to apply
