Job summary

BlueChip Pros is seeking a dependable janitor to perform cleaning in assigned buildings, maintaining clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to follow established cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities include high-dusting around rooms, sanitizing surfaces, bathroom cleaning, floor care, and grounds care of outside areas. You will inspect rooms, restock supplies, and report issues to your supervisor to ensure a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic operations of janitorial work.
• Knowledge of basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Sufficiently communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include: Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Lifting/carrying 1 – 30 lbs. equipment, supplies, trash.
• Push/pull, using both hands and arms while performing cleaning duties, exerting 5-35 lbs force.
• Climbing stairs and ladders while cleaning upper areas, drapes.
• Bending/twisting/balancing at waist, knees, neck throughout shift.
• Kneeling/crouching/crawling while cleaning lower areas, retrieving supplies from lower shelves.
• Reaching, handling, grasping and fingering while operating equipment, using hand and power tools, wiping and cleaning surfaces and using cleaning equipment. Overhead reaching required throughout shift.
• Sight – depth perception and hand/eye coordination in operation of equipment and tool use.

Responsibilities

• Perform high dusting around rooms, cleaning surfaces above shoulder height.
• Sanitize and spot clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Clean bathrooms with germicidal solutions and replenish dispensers.
• Dust mop and vacuum floors, reach under furniture and ensure cleaning behind doors.
• Inspect rooms and report issues to supervisor and ensure proper disposal of trash.
• Maintain order in public areas including food court and hallways, and wipe down glass and benches as needed.
