Job summary

Willis Automotive in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a Detail Technician to move and detail vehicles, perform exterior washing, and ensure safety compliance. The role emphasizes quality control and adherence to company standards.

Under supervision of the Detail Manager, you will work with a team, follow OSHA guidelines, and communicate progress to your supervisor. This position supports their growing automotive service team and requires reliable, detail-focused individuals.

Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend instructions and information.
• Valid Iowa driver's license; acceptable driving record in accordance with insurance provider.
• Ability to operate vehicles with both manual and standard transmissions.
• Ability to operate the necessary cleaning equipment and in a safe manner.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Advanced time management skills.
• Must have ability to work well in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Moves vehicles in and out of detail area as needed.
• Performs exterior prep work of vehicles for detailing in accordance with time and maintenance standards as set by the company.
• Performs exterior washing of vehicles using both car wash equipment and manual labor.
• Performs all work within OSHA and company safety guidelines; wears the required personal protective equipment as required by chemical manufacturer.
• Communicates work accomplishments and activities to supervisor on a regular basis.

Primary Function:

Under the direction and supervision of the Detail Manager, this position is responsible for moving vehicles, quality control, and all aspects of interior and exterior cleaning and detailing of vehicles. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.
