Job summary

CP Build is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as the technical link between project teams, fabricators, and suppliers. You will review shop drawings, submittals, and design changes to ensure material orders and production are accurate, efficient, and timely.

Ideal candidates excel at reading drawings, catching issues early, and coordinating with PMs, estimators, and field crews to keep production aligned with schedules. This role emphasizes attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction-related roles.
• Strong ability to read architectural/shop drawings and specifications.
• Experience with submittal and RFI processes.
• Proficiency with Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings against contract documents, specifications, and field conditions for accuracy and constructability
• Identify and track design changes, variations, and field revisions, and confirm their impact on material, cost, and schedule
• Coordinate with fabricators and suppliers so material is released, produced, and delivered on time
• Prepare, submit, and track submittals and RFIs through approval
• Verify quantities and material takeoffs before release to production
• Flag discrepancies, conflicts, and missing information early and work with Project Managers to resolve them
• Partner with Project Managers, estimators, and field crews to keep production aligned with the project schedule
• Track and report submittal and drawing status to Project Managers on a weekly basis
• Maintain accurate submittal logs, drawing revisions, and project files
