Job summary

Wabtec’s Detail Drafter in Erie, Pennsylvania, will create manufacturing drawings using Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter, covering sheet metal, heavy fabrication, forged parts, piping, and assemblies for locomotive, transit, marine, and mining propulsion systems.

This hourly union position requires at least an associate degree in a related engineering field and hands-on CAD experience, with NX preferred. You will work closely with lead designers and ensure drawings meet schedule and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher in Engineering, Mechanical Design, CAD, Mechanical Drafting, or related technical program.
• Experience with 3D modeling, assembly, and drafting using CAD software (NX preferred).
• Knowledge of drafting practices, manufacturing methods, shop tolerances, engineering, and manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed drawings across multiple areas under the guidance of the lead designer.
• Drawings are primarily simple one-sheet drawings, sub-assemblies, or revisions of existing drawings.
• All work is reviewed and must be approved by the lead engineer and a manufacturing representative.
