Job description

Role Mission

The Destination Specialist is a full-cycle sales role — you own the lead from the first call to the confirmed booking, and the relationship long after. Inbound inquiries come to us through digital channels; your job is to get them on the phone fast, earn their trust within the first few minutes, and guide them toward an experience they'll talk about long after they're home. You'll build proposals, handle objections, close the booking, and then stay close to that client so the next trip comes back to you too.

We'll teach you the destinations. We'll train you on the product. What we can't teach is the instinct to pick up the phone with energy, the ability to build a genuine connection with a stranger in 60 seconds, and the drive to follow up until you get an answer. That has to come from you. If you love travel, love people, and love the challenge of earning a yes — this is the role where you build a career, not just fill a seat.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Aventura, FL office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be First to the Phone, and Make It Count: Inbound leads come to us through digital channels. Your job is to call them first, connect fast, and give them a reason to stay on the line. You are the first human impression of Luxuria and in a world where clients don't know our name yet, your warmth and credibility are the brand.

  • Qualify with Curiosity, Not a Script: Go beyond the basics. Uncover the real trip, who's going, what they're celebrating, the vibe they want, how they like to travel. The richer your discovery, the better the proposal you'll build and the closer you'll be to a yes.

  • Build and Present Compelling Proposals: Take what you've learned on the call and craft a tailored itinerary that makes the client feel genuinely seen. You're not sending a generic package, you're showing them that you listened, and that you know exactly how to bring their trip to life.

  • Close with Confidence — Handle Objections with Grace: Most clients don't book on the first call. You follow up with purpose, overcome hesitation with expertise, and guide clients to a decision without pressure. You know the difference between persistence and pushiness, and you're always the former.

  • Build a Book of Business That’s Yours to Own: Every client you close is the start of a long‑term relationship. You stay in touch between trips, earn referrals, and build a portfolio of loyal travelers who come back to you, not just to Luxuria. Your book of business is your most valuable asset.

  • Grow Your Expertise Continuously: You’ll learn destinations, hotel categories, cruise lines, and travel styles on the job — and you’ll love doing it. FAM trips, industry events, and internal training will deepen your knowledge over time. The more you know, the more your clients trust you, and the more you close.

Qualifications & Requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Sales Mindset: You live to earn the yes. Whether or not you have a formal sales background, you're wired to connect, persuade, and close — and you have the persistence to prove it. If you don't have the resume yet, show us the drive that will get you there

  • High-Ticket Mindset: You don't think with your own wallet. When a client's dream trip costs $20K, you present it with confidence — because you understand their world, not yours. Hesitation at price is the number one reason deals don't close here

  • Phone Confidence: Comfort picking up the phone and building an instant connection with a stranger. You don't dread the call — you look forward to it

  • Genuine Love of Travel: You research hotels for fun. You have opinions about destinations. You get excited helping someone else plan a trip, not just taking one yourself

  • Self-Motivation: You hold yourself accountable to your own pipeline and your own numbers. No one needs to remind you to follow up

  • CRM & Organization: You keep your pipeline clean, log every interaction, and never let a follow-up fall through the cracks

NICE TO HAVE
  • Sales Experience: A proven track record of closing — in any environment where you had to earn trust, handle objections, and get to a yes

  • Mexico & Caribbean Exposure: Personal or professional familiarity with the region — even as a traveler. Gives you an immediate edge in conversations with our most common client requests

  • Hospitality or Service Background: The blend of people skills, resilience, and service‑first mindset from hospitality, athletics, bartending, or retention roles translates directly here

  • Outbound Phone Sales: A strong plus if you have it — but not a dealbreaker. The right personality and drive will take you further than a resume that checks every box

Core Competencies
  • Hunter Instinct:

You don't wait for momentum — you create it. You pick up the phone with energy, follow up with purpose, and treat every lead as an opportunity worth pursuing.

  • Personal Sales Presence:

Clients don't know Luxuria yet. They choose to work with you because of you — your voice, your confidence, and your ability to make them feel like they're in expert hands from the first hello.

  • Relationship Intelligence:

You read people quickly. You know when to push, when to listen, and how to make every client feel like your only client — even when your pipeline is full.

  • Consultative Discovery:

You ask the questions others skip. Your proposals are built on what you actually heard — and clients notice the difference between someone who listened and someone who just sent a generic itinerary.

  • Objection Navigation

You hear 'I need to think about it' and know exactly how to keep the door open. You overcome resistance with expertise and empathy, not pressure.

  • Resilience

Not every lead converts, and not every call goes well. You reset fast, stay consistent, and use a tough week as fuel rather than a reason to slow down.

  • Travel Curiosity

You genuinely enjoy researching destinations, comparing properties, and staying current on what's new in the luxury travel space. That curiosity shows up in every client conversation.

  • Follow-Through

Luxury clients expect to be remembered and followed up with. You deliver on every commitment, every time — because your reputation is built one interaction at a time.

What Success Looks Like
  • You're calling leads within minutes of them coming in — and your connection rate shows it.

  • Clients ask for you by name on return trips. Your book of business is growing through repeat bookings and referrals, not just new lead flow.

  • Your proposals feel personal. Clients respond with 'this is exactly what I was looking for' — because you actually listened.

  • Your close rate is climbing because you've mastered the art of discovery, objection handling, and well‑timed follow‑up.

  • You hit your monthly revenue targets — and you're already building the pipeline that will exceed them next quarter.

Who This Role Is Not For
  • People who need to be pushed to the phone. This role requires self‑ignition — every single day.

  • Those who treat travel as something they enjoy consuming but have no interest in curating it for others. The passion for the research side has to be genuine.

  • Anyone who leads with the brand name instead of their own credibility. Luxuria isn't a household name yet — your ability to sell yourself is the entire first impression.

  • Candidates who see follow‑up as optional. In luxury sales, persistence and consistency are the difference between a closed booking and a lost client.

  • Those who get deflated by a slow week. The pipeline has peaks and valleys — you need the resilience to show up at full energy regardless.
